BONZA'S FIRST FLIGHT MARKS A MAJOR OPPORTUNITY FOR BUNDABERG REGION

Today was a landmark moment for the Bundaberg Region, as our friends at Bonza landed at the Bundaberg Airport with passenger services from Melbourne for the first time.

This could be a game changer for our region. Giving access to Victorians to Bundaberg and the Southern Great Barrier Reef like never before.

We know that travelers in the southern states are interested in what the Bundaberg region has to offer, and its not only our sunshine! Bundaberg is home to the largest loggerhead turtle rookery in the southern hemisphere, Bundaberg boasts reef within reach, with access to the Southern Great Barrier Reef from our shores, we are home to two of the nation’s biggest drink brands and of course we have fresh, local produce gracing our tables, being grown in abundance all year round.

Over the last 2 years we’ve seen Victorian consumer traffic on our Bundaberg Region destination website nearly double and Melbourne audiences engaging with our social media content – showing us that interest and intent to visit the Bundaberg region is growing rapidly. Now with direct Bonza flights into Bundaberg twice a week from Melbourne – we look forward to welcoming more Victorian guests onto the Southern GBR from Bundaberg.

Bonza launching flights from Melbourne direct to Bundaberg gives us access to new markets and local tourism operators are incredibly excited about the positive impacts this level of connectivity will have on their business and the broader regional economy.

If you live in Melbourne – leave home after breakfast, board a Bonza flight to Bundaberg, arrive in time for the 2pm tour at Bundaberg Rum Distillery and relax into the afternoon to prepare to head out to either Lady Elliot or Lady Musgrave Islands for the next day.
