A Flickering Flame

Flashback to 1992, a young woman explores the cobblestone streets of Paris, the smell of fresh croissants wafts through the air and café goers spill out onto the sidewalk happily watching the world go by, a flame of passion begins to flicker. Now, 25 years later, that small flickering flame has turned into a furnace as Suzie's Bundy Food Tours have become one of the most popular new tours in the Bundaberg North Burnett.

Flame to Fire

The embers of Suzie's passion were sparked in Paris, where she mastered the art of French cuisine at Le Cordon Bleu. With a career spanning the world from Paris to Melbourne, she has travelled widely through Europe and Asia, sampling cuisines and learning new cooking techniques. After almost a decade in Melbourne, she returned home to Queensland, starting a boutique catering company and sharing her knowledge of cooking and French with the next generation.

When love brought her to the Bundaberg North Burnett, Suzie knew she was home. The cook in her revelled in the variety and quality of the produce available and the plethora of farm gates where you can purchase fresh produce straight from the growers with the shopkeeper a simple 'honesty box', while the Francophile in her fell for the café culture spilling out onto the Bundaberg sidewalks, where menus are packed with picked-that-day-delivered-by-the-farmer produce.

Fire to Furnace

Bundy Food Tours was the turning point for Suzie, when her fire became a furnace. Established in 2016 and launched at Winterfeast, you can't help but be drawn into the excitement Suzie and the farmers she works feel for what they do. Popular with visitors and locals, the one-of-a-kind tour gives you behind-the-scenes access to local farm life and the chance to hear the stories of the farmers supplying Australia with 25% of our national produce, straight from the source.

Be a part of Suzie's Bundy Food Tour family and unearth the stories of the passionate farmers of the Bundaberg North Burnett Region on the Bundy Food Tours hosted 'Artisan Food Tour' this Winterfeast. Book your tickets now!
