Jam packed with a number of gluten-free and some of the best plant-based menu options you'll find around town, The Windmill is definitely our pick when it comes to offering a diverse range of dietary options. With their friendly staff eager to share the multiple different types and ways you can enjoy the best local produce wrapped up into a delicious package, you're sure to find a scrumptious dish that satisfies the taste buds for everyone. Whether it be their famous acai or dragonfruit smoothie bowls, nasi bowl, poke bowl with edamame or their pulled jackfruit burger or sweet potato and quinoa salad. You can even enjoy a fully loaded smoothie menu like anti ox with coconut milk, blueberries and strawberries and add protein if needed.
The Journey Bargara
The Journey is more than just a cafe nestled in the heart of Bargara. Offering some rad vibes down a Melbournesque lane way, this coffee haven is filled with charm and a team full of passion that will have you obsessing over their delicious brew making skills. Pull up a seat or grab a coffee to go and meet the incredible husband and wife duo that started it all, adding a new, exciting specialty coffee and health cafe to the seaside town. With a passion for a healthy lifestyle, opening a coffee shop that catered to a number of dietary needs, and that offered plant-based eats was something that both Mat and Tegan strived to create when first opening their doors in 2018. Since then, they've not only grown a cult-like following for their delicious drinks and food, but have created a social hub for locals and visitors alike to come, sit back, relax and enjoy. If you're looking for something to quench your thirst on those early Summer mornings, try their Bargara Sunrise or their Neilson's Smoothie.
Oodies Cafe
If delicious, hearty and nourishing food is your jam, with amazing smoothies and coffee to boot, Oodies will be your home away from home. Run by sister duo Jenny & Suzy, the welcome and warm vibes with loads of amazing art and collections are just as good as the service and food. The Oodies Beans are a stand out favourite, ask for a side of chilli jam (if they have some) and make it into a jaffle if you dare.
Street Bean Coffee Bar
If a list like cashew cream, walnut mince, pickled vegetables, smoothie bowls, chia pudding and handmade granola grab your attention, Street Bean Coffee Bar is for you. Lots of delicious coffee and cool drink options, smack bang in the heart of the CBD on Bourbong St.
Rawlicious Delicious
This isn’t a cafe, but Rawlicious treats are just that, made from raw, plant-based and sugar free ingredients and they are available at lots of different locations around the region and are handmade right here in Bundaberg by Heidi. The Journey Bargara, Oodies Cafe, Street Bean Cafe, Olsens corner Foodworks, Pacific Coffee, Go Vita, Atrium Cafe (Friendlies hospital), Leaf and Bean. Insane Caffeine in Childers, DC Blooms in Agnes Water and Nourish Café in Gayndah also stock Heidi’s delicious treats.
The Club Hotel
It might be home to Bundy's best steaks but there are also some awesome plant based options that will fill all of those hunger pains. There are five delicious, comfort food style meals as well as some sides to choose from. Plant based doesn’t have to be tasteless, take the Sheezeburger with fried vegan schnitzel, scheeze, lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onion, beetroot and sauces or the vegan nachos with vegan chilli and beans. Yum.
