What Is A Famil?

Famil is a shortened term we use for familiarisation. Bundaberg Tourism operator three types of famils - media famils, trade famils and local industry famils. This section refers to local industry famils.

Local industry famils are run by the Bundaberg Tourism VICs and visit products throughout the region to allow our staff and volunteer ambassadors to learn about experiences to promote to visitors. Wherever possible, we invite our members to send customer-facing staff to join us as the best advocates for your business are often your fellow tourism operators.

In 2022/23, BT's local industry famils included themes in line with our seasons such as Culinary (Macadamias Australia, the Seafood Smokery, Grunskes and Ballistic Bargara); and Summer (Mon Repos, Lady Musgrave Experience and Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort) as well as some of our popular year-round attractions like Bargara, the Windmill Cafe, the Botanic Gardens, Hinkler Hall of Aviation, the historic Bundaberg CBD just to name a few.
