A taste of Bundaberg is a taste of freshness! Bundaberg and the North Burnett grows, catches and produces some of Australia’s best and most famous food and drink. Bundaberg Rum and Bundaberg Ginger Beer, along with some incredible microbreweries and wineries all provide our region and the world with flavour bursting beverages.

Did you know that Bundaberg is the tomato capital of Australia? Our region also grows zucchini, squash, cucumber, capsicum, chilli, ginger, sweet potato, macadamias, strawberries, snow peas and beans all grow abundantly! Lychees and melons are summer treats and locally grown pineapples are very sweet. Many farmers have farm gates where you can buy local fresh produce right from the farmer who grows it – Trust us, you can taste the difference! Our trawlers bring in fresh seafood daily and our regions seafood is some of the best in the world. Locally caught scallops, bugs, prawns and spanner crabs are local delicacies. While our mud crabs are full of flavour and hard to resist, Bundaberg offers a plethora of seafood all of which can be purchased in our many cafés and fishmongers.

The meat produced in Bundaberg and the North Burnett is rich and succulent.

The Bundaberg district produces a significant percentage of Queensland's sugar crop. Throughout the year the green mosaic of fields changes as the crop matures and is harvested. Bundaberg is unique in Australia as it is the only place where the entire range of sugar production activities occur – growing, milling, refining, research, distilling and tasting!
