A popular spot for stand-up-paddle boarding, kayaking and fishing, visiting Theodolite Creek is a must. You, and your furry friends, can easily spend a day at this local favourite so don’t forget to pack a picnic for a beachside feast.


Enjoy a beach lunch

With the many picnic tables dotted along the Esplanade, be sure to grab fish and chips for the quintessential beachside lunch. Don’t forget to bring the buckets and spades for the kids!

Throw in a line

If you’re an avid fisher or just starting out, you’ll find plenty of spots to throw in a line along the coast. At the mouth of the Burrum & Gregory Rivers, the beautiful Walkers Point is a great spot to relax for the day.

Wander through pristine wetlands on the many nature trails of Woodgate Beach. No matter your pace, there’s tracks for everyone. The 5km Banksia Track is perfect for kids with a 400m raised boardwalk winding through banksias. The Malealuca track, Birdhide walk and Russels rest track are also beautiful spots.

Take driving along the coastline to a whole new level and tick ‘beach driving’ off your bucket list. Bring your 4wd and drive on the sand, spotting dolphins and wildlife along the way.
