Discover a contrasting landscape of snaking river against the jagged steep-sided magnificent water-sculpted granite. Set up camp in the picturesque bush setting next to the Auburn River. Bring your binoculars to bird watch and keep an eye out for wallabies.
Auburn River National Park is located approximately 255km west of Maryborough or 40km south-west of Mundubbera.
1. Gorge Lookout Walk (grade 3)
Distance: 600m return (allow 15 minutes)
Leaving the end of the carpark, take this short track for spectacular views of the Auburn River Gorge and it’s incredible boulders.
2. Riverbed and Rock Pools Walk (grade 4)
Distance: 1.5km return (allow 1 hour)
For experienced and fit hikers, walk the track down the side of the gorge to the river through spectacular vegetation and rainforest.
3. Gorge Top Walk (grade 3)
Distance: 3.2km return (allow 1.5 hours)
Take this gentle walk along the river, through the greenry of the forest, for incredible views down the river.
