Who are we?

Bundaberg Tourism (BT) is one of Queensland’s official recognized Regional Tourism Organisations. Our mission is to market the destination, service visitors and lead the industry to achieve the region’s 2020 visitor expenditure.

BT operate three accredited Visitor Information Centres in the Bundaberg Region; Bundaberg, Childers and Gin Gin.

A membership based, not for profit organisation, BT delivers an integrated brand, marketing and destination development strategy by working in partnership with the local tourism industry and key stakeholders such as Tourism & Events Queensland and Bundaberg Regional Council.

About the Roles

We are searching for energetic, sales focused Holiday Experience Specialists who know the highlights and are passionate about our great region.

The position of Holiday Experience Specialist exists to support Team BT to ensure that customers through all touchpoints to the organisation receive exceptional customer service as well as working successfully towards a commercially focused Visitor Information Centre.

Holiday Experience Specialists report directly to the Visitor Services Manager.

These roles will liaise with visitors to the centres. volunteer organisations, industry partners, local industry and the BT membership base.

The roles will involve the delegations of some daily tasks to other staff and Ambassadors when required.

The hours of work for these positions will vary due to the needs of the business.  You are required to be available to work 7 days a week. The visitor information centres operate Monday to Sunday within the hours of 9.00am to 5.00pm.

Are you the right person for the position?

  • You have a positive outlook, are a people person and pride yourself in the delivery of exceptional customer service.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in the tourism industry or 2 years experience in the customer service industry.
  • Working knowledge and experience of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel & Outlook.
  • Experience with cash handling and daily reconciliations.
  • Possession of a current “C” Class Driver’s License is essential.
  • Must be able to travel in the region and work within our 3 Visitor Information Centres at Bundaberg, Gin Gin & Childers.


  • Previous experience or a working understanding of Visitor Information Centres.
  • Experience in using the online booking system BookEasy or other online booking systems.
  • Travel Sales Experience.
