Arriving at 9:00 am, you'll have an hour to embark on a self-guided tour and tasting experience. As you explore The Barrel, you'll get a glimpse into the behind the scenes magic of Australia’s favourite brew, that’s made using locally sourced ingredients and traditional brewing techniques. And of course, don't forget to sample some of their signature drinks, including the famous Bundaberg Ginger Beer.

After indulging your taste buds, it's time to venture into the world of rum at the Bundaberg Rum Visitor Experience. Arriving at 10:30 am, you'll have a chance to explore the distillery museum on a self-guided tour before your scheduled 1-hour Visitor Experience. Discover the secrets of Australia's most awarded distillery and gain insights into its production process. From the fermentation vats to the aged oak barrels, every step is steeped in tradition and craftsmanship. After the tour, you can savor the flavors with a tasting session or perhaps purchase a bottle of Bundaberg Rum to take home as a memento.

To continue your exploration of Bundaberg's exquisite exports, your next destination is Macadamias Australia. Arriving at 1:30 pm, you'll learn about the cultivation and harvesting process of these nutritious treats while enjoying the tranquil ambiance of the countryside. Don't forget to stock up on some macadamias to enjoy during the rest of your journey or to share with loved ones.

Ok now it’s Friday arvo, so prepare for your first Childers Festival event; a unique adventure as you embark on the Sugar Mill & Cane Fire Tour. Beginning at 3:30 pm and continuing into the evening, this tour offers an immersive insight into the sugar cane industry that has shaped Bundaberg's history. As the sun sets, marvel at the spectacular cane fire demonstration, a sight that truly captures the essence of Bundaberg's agricultural heritage. This tour promises an unforgettable evening filled with captivating sights and educational insights.

On Saturday, indulge in an enchanting performance set against the backdrop of the picturesque lake, at Opera by the Lake. From 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, sit back, relax, and let the soaring voices of the talented opera singers transport you to a world of beauty and emotion. The natural setting adds a touch of magic to this experience, making it an event to remember.

The last hoorah! Childers Festival wraps up on Sunday with a celebration of all things uniquely Childers. From 9:00am til 3:30pm, stall holders line the main street, and vibrant entertainers weave through the markets. People from all walks of life come together to celebrate community, heritage and spirit! The Bruce Highway closes and is transformed into an action-packed hub of live music, arts and crafts, vintage treasures and local produce. A perfect opportunity to mingle with the locals, learn about the region's traditions and create memories with those near and dear.

• Discover the heart of Australia's favourite spirit on a Bundaberg Rum Visitor Experience @ 10:30am – 12:00pm. This is a 1hr tour so please arrive at 10:30 am to check-in and explore the distillery museum on a self-guided tour before your Visitor Experience.
• Go nuts at Macadamias Australia with their bespoke Orchard Tour @ 1:30pm – 3:00pm.

Bundaberg Rum Distillery T&Cs

The Bundaberg Rum Distillery is a fully-operational futuristic working site. We put safety first so we need to be sure your cool to comply with our safety regulations. Please read through our Health & Safety guidelines.

This is a working factory so:
- Don't drink any alcohol before you go on the tour.
- The tour is outdoors, so maybe check the weather and come prepared for said weather. You know, bottle of water, sunscreen, sunglasses, rain jacket, etc.
- If you are under 18 and want to visit The BDC Bondstore you must have a responsible adult with you the whole time you're there. Also we love having kids around but you should - - know there are no activities for kids outside the tour. Just saying.
- If you don't speak English, we have notes available in most common languages.

We have some highly flammable areas on site:
- You can't smoke anywhere near the Bundaberg Rum Distillery, including all car parks. Please be cool with this and use the butt bins provided.
- Please don't bring any electronic or battery operated devices.
- If you do bring something electronic that we don't allow in the distillery we'll give you a secure locker to put it in for free. So don't worry about your Camera, Watch, Mobile, Remote - Locking Car Keys, Hearing Aids and Bags, Pacemaker.

Getting around the site:
- There are several flights of stairs on the tour so it's probably not suitable for guests with mobility restrictions.
- If you're using a wheelchair or walking frame you can get around The BDC Bondstore and most of the tour. But unfortunately we can't allow motorised wheelchairs in the Distillery as we are a hazardous goods site.

Entry to the Tour is granted by presenting the Tour Ticket, with identification required for concession tickets or children’s tickets. Tour Tickets may be purchased for persons under the age of 18 years of age, but a responsible adult (with their own Tour Ticket) must supervise such persons at all times during the Tour.

Tour Tickets which are lost or damaged may be replaced upon contacting the customer service number 07 4131 2989. In the event a Tour cannot go ahead on the date set out on the Tour Ticket (including but not limited to maintenance or special events) then Diageo will contact You to arrange a refund or reschedule of the Tour.

It is an express condition of Your entry into the Tour that (a) You follow the direction of Diageo and its representatives and delegates at all time , including without limitation, any set out on Your Tour Ticket or advised to You by the tour guide during the course of the Tour and (b) so far as may be permissible at law You release, waive and discharge Diageo, its officers, directors, agents and employees of and from all liability, claims or demands for all injuries, losses, damages of any kind or nature to You or Your property, or to any minor under Your supervision, whilst on the property of Diageo and during the Tour.

You acknowledge that filming and photography will be prohibited in certain areas of the distillery and You agree to follow such directions at all times. No filming or photography for commercial purposes should be carried out on the Diageo premises during the Tour or otherwise without prior written consent of Diageo.

Macadamias Australia Orchard Tour

Customers will receive a full refund or credit with 24 hours notice of cancellation with advance notice - 24hours for tours/76hours for events. Customers will also receive a full refund or credit in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Contact us by phone to cancel or inquire about a cancellation. No-shows will be charged the full price.
