The Cochrane Artificial Reef in the Woongarra Marine Park is like stepping into an underwater movie set. Just a short boat ride from shore, you’ll find the impressive 50-metre Ceratodus II and 40-metre Porteur, joined by two Mohawk aircraft, a Kingair aircraft, lightships and a maze of concrete structures now teeming with coral and marine life.
This underwater playground attracts schools of fish, friendly estuary cod, a resident groper family, stingrays, turtles, wobbegong sharks and a colourful cast of reef species.
