Lake Ellen Heritage Hub and Playground

George St, Bundaberg East, Queensland 4670

Lake Ellen Heritage Hub is one of Bundaberg’s most interactive playgrounds, located just five minutes from the town centre. Designed for children of all ages and abilities, the brightly coloured playground features a bicycle safety course where young riders can practise following road signs and traffic rules, along with accessible play areas that help everyone join in the fun.

The playground celebrates the region’s heritage through unique play equipment, including a climbing net, cane station and train, sugar cane maze, and Bush Kids activity zone.

Facilities include barbecues, picnic areas, toilets and walking trails, making it easy to spend a few hours outdoors with the family.

While the kids burn off some energy, adults can relax by the lake and enjoy the peaceful surrounds, with ducks and other birdlife often spotted on the water. If the breeze is right, you might even catch the unmistakable sweet scent of molasses drifting over from Bundaberg’s nearby sugar industry.
