Mystery Craters Bundaberg

15 Lines Road, South Kolan, Queensland 4670

Discover one of Australia’s most intriguing geological attractions at Mystery Craters, just 25 minutes from Bundaberg in Queensland’s Southern Great Barrier Reef region.

Originally opened in 1973, Mystery Craters has welcomed visitors for more than 50 years. The site features unusual crater formations believed to have formed approximately 25 million years ago, yet their true origin remains unexplained. Visitors are invited to explore the evidence, consider scientific theories, creative perspectives and spiritual beliefs, and form their own conclusions.

Follow the self-guided walking trail through the crater field, interpretive displays and elevated viewing platform before continuing your journey in the Earth Room, where crystals, fossils, minerals and peaceful spaces invite quiet reflection. Discover the attraction’s history in the Murrin Centre, then enjoy Jim’s Trail, an interactive augmented reality adventure with hidden 3D experiences throughout the site.

Private guided tours and wellbeing experiences, including sound healing and Heart Coherence sessions, offer a deeper connection with the attraction.

Relax in the garden café with barista coffee, light meals and premium Maleny Dairies ice cream before browsing the boutique gift shop featuring crystals, fossils, gemstones, jewellery and locally sourced gifts.

Mystery Craters is where geology, history, nature and curiosity come together, inviting every visitor to discover the mystery and leave with a story of their own.
