Bundaberg Tourism is proud to announce a stellar performance in the 2025 Best of Queensland Experience Program (BOQEP), with 72% of assessed operators in the Bundaberg Region recognised for consistently delivering exceptional visitor experiences.
Out of 85 local tourism businesses assessed, 61 have been officially identified as Best of Queensland Experiences – a significant leap from 2024’s result of 54. These results showcase the strength, growth and commitment of the region’s visitor economy and its operators.
The Bundaberg Region also recorded an impressive ReviewPro Global Review Index™ (GRI) score of 89.95, surpassing the Queensland state average of 88.86. The GRI is a world-renowned reputation score based on an aggregation of online customer reviews across more than 140 global travel review sites. It reflects real-time customer sentiment and is a cornerstone of BOQEP’s independent assessment process.
The BOQEP is Tourism and Events Queensland’s (TEQ’s) official stamp of excellence, developed in partnership with Queensland’s Regional Tourism Organisations (RTOs), the Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC), and the Department of Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI). The program helps visitors identify tourism operators who consistently go above and beyond – and provides industry with valuable insights to drive ongoing improvement.
Bundaberg Tourism CEO Katherine Reid said, “These results reflect the passion, professionalism and sheer heart of our local operators. From world-class marine experiences and seasonal feasts to cultural storytelling and eco stays – our region is setting the benchmark for authentic Queensland hospitality.
“The jump in our BOQEP results and ReviewPro score shows that visitors are not only coming – they’re loving it, and telling the world about it. And that’s the kind of momentum that fuels both community pride and long-term economic growth.
“We’re not just ticking boxes – we’re curating meaningful visitor experiences that leave people changed for the better. That’s the power of tourism done right.”
Recognised businesses span key tourism categories including accommodation, attractions, food and drink, transport, tours, and general services. These operators now carry the Best of Queensland Experience stamp of recognition, giving visitors a clear signal of quality and trust.
Tourism and Events Queensland CEO Craig Davidson said: “Meeting all the criteria for this recognition program is not easy, and this is done deliberately to show travelers from all over the world that Queensland really does offer a world-class holiday.
“Carrying the industry’s Best of Queensland Experience stamp is a significant achievement, operators who have secured this have gone above and beyond to offer an all-round outstanding experience for visitors to our great state.”
