Bundaberg Today: September School Holidays

This week marks the beginning of the September school holidays. After an unprecedented year, we are thrilled to see visitors returning to the region to spend time with their families and experience the beauty of our region.

One of our core roles as the Regional Tourism Organisation is marketing the Bundaberg region and inspiring High Value Travellers (HVT) who have an interest in our spectacular experiences to visit. These travellers spend more than the average person while on leisure trips which is great for our local economy.

A key market for the Bundaberg region is families. From snorkeling alongside turtles to witnessing a miracle at Mon Repos and discovering the world of Bundaberg Brewed Drinks and more, our incredible experiences are perfect for families.

Whilst you may see more families in our region during Summer, the Bundaberg region attracts a wide variety of travellers as the weather warms up. In addition to our reef and beach experiences, our abundant fresh produce and array of exquisite, locally made drinks available year-round, tourists are visiting our emerging foodie destination in droves as they seek new tastes.

As the gateway to the beautiful Southern Great Barrier Reef, home to giant marine life and secluded National Parks, the tourism industry and Team BT are excited to showcase the region as the months grow warmer and the days grow longer.

As I mentioned last week, we recently held our Annual General Meeting where the 20/21 Director positions on our Board were elected. Made up of local, industry representatives from agritourism to hospitality and everything in between, our passionate board guides our organisation. We would like to welcome our new Director Larine Statham from Crush Magazine and returning Directors Duncan Littler from our iconic Bundaberg Distilling Company, Tina McPherson from the delicious Tinaberries and Ross Peddlesden, who brings us a wealth of experience from local radio.
