WOODGATE BEACH WELCOMES EASTER HOLIDAYMAKERS WITH ARMS WIDE OPEN

With the Easter holidays bringing a surge of visitors to the Bundaberg Region,
a Pop-Up Visitor Information Hub will welcome, assist and inspire visitors in Woodgate Beach, thanks to a
partnership between First National Woodgate Beach and Bundaberg Tourism.

Woodgate Beach is a popular getaway destination for visitors from South East Queensland and the Fraser Coast, as well as with locals, with school holidays seeing the quiet beachside town boom as families and couples soak up the sunshine.

The Easter Holidays are traditionally one of the town’s peak visitor seasons, with the ever-popular Woodgate Easter Fair a key driver for overnight visitors and day trippers throughout its more than 20 year history.

Proud Woodgate Beach ambassador and principal of Woodgate Beach First National Real Estate, Michelle Cocking is excited to have driven the pop-up project.

“The Pop-Up Information Hub will be located in the middle of the action, at 146 The Esplanade, and will be open every day from 9am-3pm throughout the school holidays until the end of April’’.

“Woodgate Beach has just witnessed one of our busiest summers on record, with our holiday rentals almost completely booked out across December and January.  The buzz in the community was palpable as we welcomed new and returning visitors.”

“Woodgate Beach has been a proud safe haven for many interstate travellers across the past two years who stayed with us when borders were closed, and we are excited that Queensland families continue to choose here to stay each holidays.”

“Our 16km of pristine beach means that in spite of the surge of visitors, locals and guests can always find their own patch of private white sand to enjoy the sunshine on!”

Bundaberg Tourism’s CEO, Katherine Reid said “The community in Woodgate Beach is very proactive in looking after its visitors, and in the world of tourism marketing, where first impressions and word of mouth is king, they are a shining example of why our region is famous for its warm welcome.”

“We have worked with Michelle and other operators for many years to drive awareness of Woodgate Beach, and we were excited when she extended the offer of a vacant shopfront for the purpose of this pop-up.  We look forward to creating more pop up visitor information hubs in partnership with Woodgate Beach and more of our region’s communities in the future.”

“Our data shows that Woodgate experiences significant spikes in visitation over the spring, summer and Easter school holidays, especially with young families and older couples from Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast who are seeking a nostalgic holiday, the untouched natural experiences of the region and quality time with their loved ones.”
