Mundubbera is where the Burnett, Boyne and Auburn rivers pull up a chair for a yarn.

Mundubbera is where the Burnett, Boyne and Auburn rivers pull up a chair for a yarn, and trust us, you’ll want to join in.

Stroll along the river through the gardens to the weir, poke around the town’s little history nooks, or swing by the Mundubbera Regional Art Gallery to see what the local creatives have been cooking up.

And don’t even think about leaving without raiding the local produce—mangoes, blueberries, table grapes, asparagus, and enough citrus to fill a ute. Grab a taste, grab a bag, maybe even grab a seat and settle in for a while.

Country

Take a wander along the Burnett River at Bicentennial Park, poke around the Sensory Garden and slow things down for a minute. If you’re feeling more outdoorsy, head up to Lloyd-Jones Weir to throw in a line , launch the kayak or just sit back and watch the birds do their thing.

Out toward Auburn River National Park, the scenery turns it on, and you’re never too far from fresh local produce to snack on while you’re at it.
