Bundaberg Tourism and the regions trade active operators have continued to promote the destination virtually to Key Distribution Partners both domestic and international, despite border closures, ensuring agents around the world are familiar with Bundaberg and the Southern Great Barrier Reef and how to include our region in their client’s itineraries when they start traveling again.

Trade Product Update - Webinars: 

We’ve hosted 12 product update webinars since August 2020, giving our operators the opportunity to stay connected with trade partners byproviding an updateduring what was a difficult but a time full of opportunity for the industry

There was an average of 45 registrations per webinar, with the recording being made available on the Bundaberg Tourism’s YouTube channel and promoted through Tourism Australia's Corporate Newsletter.The recordings are also being made available on Tourism Australia’s Aussie Specialist website, allowing Aussie Specialist agents from Australia and around the world to be trained in everything Bundaberg, Southern Great Barrier Reef.

Australia Marketplace Online, U.K. and Europe:

In November 2020, Bundaberg Tourism represented the destination at the 3-half day online virtual event, meeting with over 30 agents and industry stakeholders from the U.K. and Europe. At this time, it was important that the destination stayed front-of-mind with our partners from across the globe and to let them know that we are all in this (COVID-19 pandemictogether.

South-East Queensland Coast Sales Mission and Networking Events:

In March 2021, Bundaberg Tourism representing the destination, Villa Mirasol Motor Inn, Bundaberg Rum and Kellys Beach Resort, along with Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort and Lady Musgrave Experience, visiting over 25 separate, retail, wholesale and inbound agents, and industry stake holders from Hervey Bay to the Gold Coast over 5 days.

Bundaberg Tourism hosted a networking event in Brisbane with 20 agents attending and with the help from ATEC hosted an event on the Gold Coast with 35 attendees. 

Bundaberg, Southern Great Barrier Reef was one of the first destinations to ‘hit the road’ for face-to-face meetings with industry since COVID shut the industry down in March 2020.

Operators who participated and contributed to the sales mission received a detailed report of the key contacts, appointment notes and opportunities from the mission.

ATEC South Queensland Inbound Workshop:

In March 2021, Bundaberg Tourism represented the destination at the 3-half day online virtual event connecting with over 30 inbound operators from around the world. This was a positive event with many of the inbound operators now either quoting for 22.23 or as well as working in the domestic market.

All operators who have completedthe trade mentoring program received a detailed report of key contacts, appointment notes and key opportunities

New Destination Trade Marketing Collateral: 

We have been busy developing our collateral for tourism trade. We would like to make this available to all our members, so when promoting the destination, we are all singing from the same hymn sheet.
