Gin Gin

Small town, big stories

Just a short, scenic drive north of Bundaberg, Gin Gin is a town that sneaks up on you with charm. Wide streets lined with gardens and historic buildings nod to Queensland’s pioneering past, while the surrounding countryside is a mix of sugarcane fields, vineyards, and olive groves, basically, heaven for explorers and taste-testers alike.

The main street is picture-perfect, but if you venture a little further, you’ll find adventure hiding in plain sight.

THINGS

to do

Friendly locals, quirky sights, and a whole lot of curiosity await. Wander through the Southern Hemisphere’s longest unsupported tunnel at Boolboonda, or see if you’ve got fishing chops at Lake Monduran.

From rolling farmland to hidden bush tracks, Gin Gin is packed with surprises. Lace up your boots, hop in the car, and see what cheeky adventures you can dig up in this hinterland gem.

Hinterland

detours

Take the detour to the Mystery Craters. No one’s fully sure how they got there, but that’s half the fun.  Enjoy lunch in the native bushlands of Gin Gin Nature Park on the edge of town, or get your fauna fix at the Goodnight Scrub National Park where colourful king parrots, owls, wallabies and butterflies will show you around.
