Running an event in the Bundaberg Region? If it’s not showing on the destination website, you’re missing potential attendees. That’s where Bundaberg’s new Destination Events Calendar comes in.
How Does It Work?
Bundaberg Tourism’s spunky new event calendar uses Everi to automatically pull events onto bundabergregion.org, saving operators from double-handling.
It pulls from:
- Facebook Events (steps apply)
- ATDW Event listings
- Some key websites like the Bundaberg Regional Council Events site; and
- Manual upload (that just means you or we chuck it online directly)
GET LISTED
Option 1: Facebook Events (quick and easy)
Perfect for community events, markets, gigs and one-off experiences of members and groups across the Region. Set up is super easy, however you’ll need to contact the Bundaberg Tourism team to make this happen.
Tips For Success:
- Your event should be a public event on a page (not a personal account)
- Make sure your dates, times and locations are correct
- Include a clear description and image/s – not posters or flyers if possible
Option 2: ATDW Events (best for reach)
Ideal for ticketed events, major festivals or repeat events. ATDW events can also appear on state and national tourism platforms.
Same rules apply: clear copy, great images, accurate info.
Option 3: List directly with Everi
If you’re not using ATDW or Facebook, you can still get your event onto the Bundaberg Region Events Calendar by listing directly with Everi.
Everi is the engine behind our Events Calendar, helping distribute your event across multiple platforms and giving it more chances to be seen. By adding your event directly into Everi, you’re plugging straight into the system that powers our website and event discovery.
Here’s how it works:
- Create a free account with Everi
- Add your event details, images and key information
- Submit your event for publication
- Once approved, your event can appear on the Bundaberg Region Events Calendar and across the Everi network
It’s a simple option for businesses, community groups and event organisers who don’t already use ATDW or Facebook event listings.
Make your event impossible to ignore
A great event listing doesn’t just inform… it convinces.
If you want people to show up, you need to give them a reason to choose your event over everything else on their weekend scroll.
Here’s how to make it count:
Lead with the hook
Skip the generic. What makes your event worth leaving the house for? Live music? Limited tickets? One-day-only? Say it upfront.
Sell the experience, not the logistics
Dates and times matter, but they don’t excite. Paint the picture. What will people see, taste, hear or feel when they’re there?
Choose images that stop the scroll
Blurry flyers and text-heavy graphics won’t cut it. Use bright, high-quality images that show real moments and real energy.
Make it easy to say yes
Clear details, simple ticket links, and upfront pricing remove friction. If people have to work too hard to figure it out, they won’t.
Think like your visitor
Would you travel for this? Would you tell your mates? If not, what’s missing?
Keep it fresh
Update your listings with new images, added details or program highlights to keep momentum building.
A few things to watch out for (and easy fixes)
Instead of getting caught out, here’s how to stay ahead:
- Too vague? Add detail. People want to know what they’re actually getting.
- Too wordy? Trim it. Keep it punchy and easy to scan.
- No imagery? Add it. Events without visuals get skipped.
- Hard to find info? Make key details obvious. Date, time, location, cost.
- Set and forget? Keep promoting. The more signals your event sends, the further it travels.
Why this matters
At the end of the day, your event isn’t just a date on a calendar.
It’s a chance to bring people into the region, into your business, and into an experience they’ll talk about long after it’s done.
Events add life to the Bundaberg Region calendar and help visitors stay longer and spend more. Our new event calendar ensures your event is visible where visitors are already planning their trip. If it’s on Facebook or ATDW, it can be on the destination website. Easy.
So give it the spotlight it deserves.
