Bundaberg Today: Virtual Reality

To inspire visitors to extend their length of stay in the region, we have recently installed a new Virtual Reality experience in our Bundaberg Visitor Information Centre.

Thanks to our matched funding received under the State Government’s Outback Tourism Infrastructure Fund, we are incredibly excited to be 1 of 11 Visitor Information Centres across the state to launch this experience for visitors to the region.

The Virtual Reality experience gives visitors the opportunity to visualise our spectacular sights and immerse themselves in the extraordinary environments of our region. By giving tourists a snapshot into the region and their potential holiday, we hope to entice visitors to spend more money in our local economy and explore more of what we have to offer.

With our region known for delicious, farm fresh produce, one of our virtual experiences showcases our true farm-to-plate lifestyle where local farms only minutes away deliver the ingredients that go into the dishes served up by our cafes and restaurants.

Featuring our amazing animal encounters, the second virtual experience will give visitors a unique look into how they can tick up-close animal experiences off their bucket list with the curious creatures who call the region home.

Through this Virtual Reality funding, we now have the equipment to continue to create new content and we are excited to expand on the experiences currently offered over the coming months.

If you would like to test out our Virtual Reality experience for yourself, be sure to visit our friendly staff and volunteers at the Bundaberg Visitor Information Centre. Take in a new perspective of our region and come find out more about the spectacular experiences in our backyard.
