The festive season is in full swing in the Bundaberg Region, with so much to see and do whilst in town, these 12 ways to get into the Bundy Christmas Spirit will be sure to keep you on Santa's Nice List with the whole fam!

1 – Twinkle Town

Enjoy an evening stroll with the family, and stare in awe at the twinkling trees as you see the picturesque main streets of Bundaberg, Childers & Gin Gin, come alive with a magical and vibrant Christmas light display!

2) Ho Ho Ho? In Bundy we do Cha Cha Chocolate!

Willy Wonka eat your heart out! If you’re looking for the perfect place to load up on stocking fillers from Santa, delicious gourmet hampers filled with regional treasures for loved ones or just for a few sweet treats to enjoy cozying up in front of the telly this festive season, then Cha Cha Chocolate is your one stop shop. Nestled amongst quirky boutiques in Bundaberg’s CBD, the eye catching Christmas displays in the windows will certainly attract every sweet tooth passing by!

Who’s ready for a mini festive road trip? Buckle up and pop that Christmas spirit into 5th gear with the ultimate whistle stop tour of the best Christmas lights in Bundy! With one house having over 10,000 lights glistening!

4) The Bundaberg Brewed Barrel

This December the iconic Bundaberg Brewed Drinks Barrel is transformed into a Santa’s grotto-esque wonderland. See, touch & smell the Christmas spirit, with a cinnamon and pine scent and an array of decorations welcoming you upon entry. Your little helpers will be treated to reindeer food to take away with them, and it will sparkle bright to guide Rudolph and the pals to your home. The Bundaberg Barrel is home to some quirky little last-minute gifts too, copper cocktail mugs – perfect for your gin gin mules, iconic ginger beer sock & bucket hats and of course, personalized labels for your 6 pack of fizzy fun. Their limited release Spiced Ginger Beer is back again this year, with festive flavours of cinnamon and cloves – this tastes like Christmas in a bottle!

5) Decorate your own Snowman!

Arts & Crafts are snow joke for your little ones! We may not get snow in Bundaberg but the kids can still have fun creating their own little frosty (that won’t melt in this La Niña heat)

6) Decorate a small Christmas Tree!

7) Christmas at The Paragon Theatre

Be jolly, merry & bright at one of the oldest theatres in Queensland, 1920’s state heritage listed vintage cinema, The Paragon Theatre.

The Last Minute Christmas
 - A family fun show perfect for kids ages 10 and below! Fun, original songs, your favourite Christmas carols and heaps of audience interaction to keep the little ones paying attention! With themes of kindness and sharing, this musical story encourages young children to discover the true meaning of Christmas: the spirit of giving.

It’s a wonderful life
 - Sit back, relax and enjoy being transported back in time as the black and white Christmas classic makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Pick up a delicious coffee or sweet treat from the Espresso Bar in the foyer before the feel good family flick begins. (We’d suggest a Mamminos ice cream – their ‘Red Dirt’ Jaffa & Macadamia flavour is heavenly!)

8) Twilight Markets

Looking for a few last-minute gifts or stocking fillers? Then pop down to the Artisan and Paradise Markets, and lace your way through the many stalls of hand crafted goods and unique gift ideas. What a great way to support local small businesses this festive season and perhaps finish your Christmas shopping without the hustle and bustle of the shopping centres.

9) Christmas Carol Service

The Bundaberg Baptist Church will be holding their annual Light of the World Christmas Carol Service, with burgers and bbq dinner available to feed the hungry!. Bring along your camp chair or picnic rug and relax in the open air as everyone gathers together to for good tidings and all things merry and bright.

10) Christmas Classics Film Festival

12) Surfs up Santa!

If you’re rising and shining at Kellys Beach Resort this Christmas, the little ones may just have to stay on best behavior as Santa is known to make a special stop by the resort late Christmas morning. As this is his final stop before leaving Australia, he is usually in his thongs after a long busy night, working hard in his boots.
