Welcome to 3 nights in paradise

If secluded beaches with soft white sand and sun-kissed blue waters stretching for kilometres sounds like paradise, then Woodgate Beach is for you. Only 45 minutes south of Bundaberg, this coastal town is the perfect way to escape the hustle and bustle of your daily life and will have you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

Pack your bags, it’s time to take that well-deserved break you’ve been dreaming of the last few months.

Whoever said accommodation was just a place to lay your head at night was definitely incorrect. Set amongst lush surrounds and heavenly views, you’ll find NRMA Woodgate Beach Holiday Park and their new safari tents. Guaranteed to be the highlight of your getaway, these safari tents are the perfect way to reconnect with nature and spend some quality time with your significant other without sacrificing those luxury amenities. As you walk up the steps to your home away from home, you won’t be disappointed. From the outdoor bath for those days after the beach to the wooden features truly bringing that camping experience alive, leaving your accommodation each morning to explore won’t be as easy as you think!

Uninterrupted beachside views

With an incredible 16 kilometres of pristine coastline lacing the town of Woodgate Beach, finding a spot to set up for that dreamy picnic lunch will be a breeze. Thanks to the year-round warm sunshine, taking a relaxing dip after filling up from the tastiest local produce is an absolute must. If stand-up-paddle boarding and kayaking is your thing, we recommend heading to Theodolite Creek. Its calm waters mean you can explore as much as your heart’s content and easily devote a of couple hours to this oasis.

Back to nature

Spend the afternoon exploring the beautiful wetlands of Woodgate Beach. Just minutes’ drive from your safari tent, you’ll come across the breathtaking Banksia Track. Wander through towering paperbark trees as you look out for wildlife and take in the sights along the way. For avid bird watchers, be sure to bring your binoculars and take the stunning Bird Hide walk through coastal plains and tea-tree wetlands.

Dinner’s up

Finish the first day of your getaway with a barbecue at your peaceful safari tent. Your own private outdoor area means you and your partner can take in the clear starry sky over a glass of bubbly, just on your own.

Wake up to the sounds of the ocean crashing and birds chirping in the distance for your second day in paradise.

Explore storybook streets

A short 30 minute drive from Woodgate Beach you’ll discover Childers, a town in the hinterlands surrounded by rolling hills and sweeping views.
Take time to stroll through the old-worldly main street of Childers. Laced with mason buildings, most of which are heritage-listed, you’ll truly feel as though you’ve been transported back in time. Discover the medicinal marvels and unique specimens at The Old Pharmacy and be in awe of the talented local artists at the Childers Art Space. If you’re feeling peckish, stop by the Paragon Theater, a restored 1800s movie theatre, for one of the mouthwatering ice creams from Mammino Gourmet Ice Cream.

Food, glorious food

You’re sure to build up an appetite from your morning exploring this breathtaking hinterland town. In the heart of Childers is Insane Caffeine, a quirky café filled with greenery. From spiced pumpkin soup to crispy buttermilk chicken, visiting this popular lunch spot is a must-do for all foodies and the perfect place to take in the town’s atmosphere.

Make grape decisions

Tick wine o’clock off your bucket list and meet the passionate makers at the wineries throughout Childers. Take the drive to Hill of Promise, a local winery full of Sicilian heritage. Creating award-winning flavours filled with hints of rose petals, dark chocolate and berries, choosing which drinks to take back to your safari tent will be the hardest (and tastiest) part.

Just when you think the deliciousness is over, stop into Vintner’s Secret Vineyard, a winery perched on top of a hill and encompassed by their lush vineyards. Hear stories of winemaking from Ed and Marianne and learn why their wines are so special. Thanks to their expansive surrounds, it’s a beautiful spot for an afternoon picnic before heading back to Woodgate Beach.

It’s your last day at this peaceful paradise before making your way home, so you better make it count.

Untouched oasis

Calling all 4wders, Burrum Coast National Park is for you. With natural beauty stretching for kilometers, this is a place you can easily spend your whole day. Drive the tracks of the national park, filled with aromatic native flowers and greenery, and explore the hidden gems. If driving on the beach is your favourite, get up close to the coastline by taking one of the tracks leading to the water. Be sure to bring your umbrella, camping chairs and a picnic lunch for the ultimate last day.

Bon Appétit

There’s no better way to end your stay in Woodgate Beach than reminiscing about your time in paradise while enjoying locally caught fish and chips at your incredible safari tent. Why not pop one of the bottles from the wineries you visited and enjoy the last of your time at this haven, vowing to come back again soon.
