Your 3-Day School Holiday Adventure

Wondering what to do these school holidays? We've got you covered with this memory-making 3-day adventure!

 

DAY 1

Breakfast

Begin your holiday with a delicious breakfast at the Windmill at Bargara where you'll find your taste buds tingling over their delectable menu that is sure to be a hit with the whole family. Enjoy the garden surroundings and relax over some local Lonnie's Chai whilst waiting for your meals to arrive. Be sure to try 'The Windmill Stack' to start your day strong before heading off on your days adventure.

Whale Watching 

Hop in the car and head towards Bundaberg Port where you'll be embarking on a trip that will leave you with memories to last a lifetime. From here you'll be venturing on a half-day whale watching tour with Australia Whale Experience, on board their luxury catamaran. Be sure to have your cameras at the ready and enjoy the spectacular displays as Humpback whales play in the depths of the Southern Great Barrier Reef. 

 

Check-in

Check-in at Kelly's Beach Resort and unwind in the natural surrounds with the soothing sounds of Kelly's beach not too far away. Dip your toes into the pool while the kids cartwheel around the vast greenie expanse and let your mind wonder in this peaceful escape.

 

Dinner

You're on holiday! So, sit back, relax and dine at Kelly's Beach Resort on-site restaurant for the night and reminisce over the day's adventures.

 

DAY 2:

Strawberry Picking

Looking for something juicy? Time to pack your hats and prepare to get picking at Tinaberries Strawberry farm. Enjoy the fertile fields of the Bundaberg Region whilst collecting your punnets worth of berries and take note of the rich red soil that is the key to producing these luscious delights. Get in quick before the season finishes at the beginning of October.

 

Beach Time

With your punnets in hand, make your way towards the pristine and breathtaking views of the coral coast at Elliot Heads. Immerse yourself in the peaceful serene before getting the family together for a paddle upstream. Enjoy this experience that will leave you in awe and keep an eye out for the different wildlife calling the area home.

 

Dinner

Food for the heart and soul. Treat yourself to a delectable gourmet meal at HSG at the Gardens and indulge in the local fresh flavors produced from the paddock to your plate. A night out in the open air with twinkling lights overhead and plenty of space for the kids to run wild, lose yourself in this nighttime humble abode.

 

DAY 3

Childers

On the road home after your holiday stop at Insane Caffeine in Childers and enjoy a final taste of the Bundaberg Region. This quirky retro café will leave your belly's full and a longing for more. Their tantalizing menu is just what you need to finish off your holiday and start the journey home.

 

Snakes Downunder

After your bellys are full hop on over to Snakes Downunder Reptile Park & Zoo for a fun filled day, with the family. Home to over 45 different species, get involved in their reptile handlings and not-to-miss koala and meerkat encounters.

Tip for the way home: Only a few meters down the road, treat yourself at Mammino's and try their famous mouthwatering gourmet ice-cream.
