With COVID-19 restrictions easing in Queensland and more visitors returning to our beautiful region, our tourism industry and passionate operators have been in the spotlight right across the nation.

Next Monday 12th kicks off the ticket sales for the Mon Repos Turtle Encounter tours and the beginning of our Summer Season marketing activity. This year has truly shown the strength and resilience of our tourism industry, and it is wonderful to see visitors and locals buzzing with the excitement of our magical turtles and natural environments that we have right here in our backyard. 

To inspire visitors to extend their length of stay in the region, we have recently installed a new Virtual Reality experience in our Bundaberg Visitor Information Centre.

Every year from November to March, the shores of Mon Repos comes alive as mother turtles haul themselves up the beach to nest and hatchlings begin the first steps of their journey as they make their mad dash to the sea.

This week marks the beginning of the September school holidays. After an unprecedented year, we are thrilled to see visitors returning to the region to spend time with their families and experience the beauty of our region.

Only a half a day’s drive north of the south-east, our region can cheekily say that you can leave after the mornings peak hour and be in Bundaberg in time for a lazy afternoon’s lunch of fish and chips at the beach.

We currently have nominations open for 5 directors positions for our Board with one of those specifically dedicated to a representative from the North Burnett Region. If you believe you have the skills and time to dedicate to a volunteer Board position with Bundaberg Tourism nominate here. 

Every year, visitors from throughout Australia and beyond (pre COVID of course!) make their way to our backyard, to swim alongside our marine life at sun-kissed coral reefs, to witness a miracle on the shores of our famous Mon Repos, to experience our year-round abundant produce, and to sip award-winning drinks made by our brewers, crafters and distillers.
